Green Bottlebrush Melaleuca viridiflorus
Green Bottlebrush (previously Callistemon viridiflorus) is a small shrub 1-2 m high x 1 m wide. This shrub is covered in green bottlebrushes in spring. The bottlebrushes are used to make a sweet tea or to flavour water. To make a tea. pour boiling water over the bottlebrush and allow to steep for a few minutes. Remove the brush and you will have a very sweet tea. Dilute as necessary. To make a refreshing cold drink use the same method and allow to cool. Dilute with cold water as you would make a cordial and serve with ice.
