Lemon Bottlebrush Melaleuca pallidus
Lemon bottlebrush is a medium shrub covered in lemon coloured bottlebrushes in spring and summer. Will tolerate wet or dry conditions and makes an excellent hedging plant. Tolerates full sun or filtered light.
The large lemon bottlebrushes are packed with nectar and makes an excellent sweet tea. One bottlebrush will serve many, so best to use a teapot for this one! To make the tea, pour boiling water over the bottlebrush and allow to steep for a few minutes. Dilute with boiling water to taste. For a sweet drink allow your tea to cool and dilute with cold water to taste. Serve with ice.
Lemon bottlebrush attracts honey-eaters to your garden in search of the delicious nectar.
