Alpine Baeckea Baeckea gunniana
Description: Alpine Baeckea has pink or white flowers that bloom from August to November, grows 0.3 - 2m high and 0.3 - 0.5m wide and has small aromatic leaves. This delicate small shrub, sometimes known as Lemon-leaf Heath Myrtle imparts a lovely lemon bush flavour to savoury and sweet dishes. Add sprigs to barbequed or roasted meats, fish and vegetables. It also makes a delicious citrus flavoured tea. Alpine Baeckea has been used as a traditional medicinal plant by Australian Indigenous peoples to treat numerous ailments such as common colds, coughs, viral infections, fever and diarrhea.
Growing Conditions: Alpine Baeckea likes full sun or part shade. Prefers to be kept moist and watered over summer.
